We can sympathize with the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Indianapolis, which sees the new Colts stadium as a symbol of the citys enchantment with entertainment instead of more pressing needs. But the alliances threat to stage protests at the stadium unless the city agrees to its request for usd. 25 million a year toward anti-violence programs is itself a mere symbol not likely to accomplish anything. City officials have already said they plan to work with the group and are looking for solutions and more money. And a sports complex, whatever else one thinks of it, is an amenity that can fairly be said to add to the quality of life, one of the ameliorating factors in the violence equation.

He was put on probation by the Judicial Standards Commission earlier this year in that case, and he said the charge he used cocaine was a continuation of a commission vendetta against him. 2006-10-21 Philadelphia Inquirer This stage version of Dostoyevsky is a Crime

Dostoyevskys novel centers on this young, intense brilliant character, who concocts a self-serving theory about "extraordinary men" who need not be governed by the moral restraints of ordinary human beings, and who are licensed by their own daring and genius to fulfill themselves regardless of the cost to others. He decides to test his idea to see if he is such a superman.

Seems to have been reduced to the story of Lazarus, the biblical tale of resurrection, returned to repeatedly in the script. The scene when Sonia reads the Bible story to Raskolnikov should be riveting, her religious ecstasy made gloriously visible, but onstage it seems more like Sunday school.
